What a season !!!

Well today was the end of the Missouri rifle season and what a season
it was !!! After a slow start to the first 5 days things really picked
up over the second 5 days with every hunter killing out !!! Overall
with archery and rifle in Missouri and Nebraska we killed 21 bucks and
17 of our bucks scored over 125. It was a record year for us and we
can't wait for next season . If you haven't booked your spot yet you
need to now !! We only have 16 spot available for rifle in Missouri
and only 4 spots for Nebraska . Archery spots are filling up fast so
if your thinking of a rut hunt don't wait until the last moment !!!
Our Kansas rifle season starts next week and we are really excited
about the deer we have been seeing over there. And for Kansas for 2010
we will only be taking 4 rifle hunters, don't wait too long book your
hunt now !!! Thank you for another great season and hope to see u next
year !!!

We ended the early portion of the bow season yesterday and even though
the weather has been really warm we still managed to kill 10 bucks in
14 days with 15 bow hunters total !! I will take 66% success rate
anytime !!!! Today opens the Missouri and Nebraska rifle season and we
have hunters in both states waiting for that monster to walkout !!!

It's not always about trophy bucks !!

There's nothing I love better than taking a kid hunting and when that
kid just happens to be your nephew,well it just doesn't get any better
than that. Being an outfitter so much of my time is spent trying to
get clients on game that I rarely get a chance to hunt with family or
friends. So when I get the chance to take my brother or nephew out
thats just priceless !!!!
Gavin is differnt than most kids his age he has a love for the
outdoors that you just don't see and as his Uncle I'm so happy we
share the same passion and love. For me the outdoors is everything
besides spending time with my family every free moment is spent think
about hunting and guiding and I think Gavin is being to think the same
way. Any kid that would rather go deer hunting than trick or treat is
hooked !!!
Our first morning didnt go as well as we would have liked. The hunting
was slow with just a few doe hitting the field and it looked like it
was going to be a long day with the temp rising fast. After regrouping
and getting a bite for lunch we headed back out for what we thought
would be a good evening hunt, but warm weather made deer movement
slow. Rod had asked Gavin about harvesting a doe since the bucks
weren't moving well and he said he would love to shoot one it seemed
as if only minutes later a nice mature doe walk out to the field where
Gavin shoot her at an amazing 200 yards !!! It didn't seem to matter
to Gavin if he shoot a buck or doe he was just happy to be hunting !!!
The look on his face was priceless and just was a quick reminder to
how lucky I am to have a brother and nephew who share my passion!!!!
Everytime I go hunting I learn something and on this hunt he reminded
that's not always about the trophy buck !!!! Congrats Gavin and I hope
u enjoy the meat !!!!
